Hoys Koppie

Early inhabitants of Hermanuspietersontein, in the mid-19th century called it Klip Kop, which remained the name until well into the 20th century. Hoys Koppie is approximately 440 million years old. From the variety of shells and shell fish unearthed there, scientists concluded that the cave of Hoys Koppie was once close to the sea. On summer days, this koppie offers you a wonderful walk, with exceptional views and historical associations.
